Co-Creating Leadership Excellence for the Future with EY
EY's National Leadership Event
Ernst & Young (EY) is one of the world’s largest professional services firms, employing over 390,000 people across more than 150 countries. With annual revenues exceeding $45 billion, EY is a global leader in assurance, consulting, strategy, and tax services. Their mission is clear: to help organisations solve their toughest challenges and create long-term value for clients, people, and society. To maintain their position at the forefront of their field, EY is committed to constant learning and collaboration with the world’s most respected thought leaders.
Recently, EY invited David Meade to lead and design their National Leadership Event—a pivotal gathering aimed at shaping the future skills of EY’s most senior leaders. This two-day programme was co-authored and co-designed by David in close collaboration with EY’s senior leadership team. Every aspect of the event was meticulously crafted to drive spectacular performance by building the capabilities and mindset that EY’s teams need to succeed.
A Better, Working World
The programme focused on several key areas essential to leadership excellence. David explored the psychology of high performance and effective communication, emphasising the critical importance of diversity in teams and businesses. He delved into the power of purpose and legacy in creating extraordinary work and highlighted that true high performance can only be achieved through people—by fostering their growth, engagement, and potential.
“David brought an incredible amount of energy and enthusiasm to our event and engaged an audience of 1,500 from across all levels of our organisation over two days.
However, the event was not just about listening and learning. It was designed to stretch and challenge EY’s leaders, pushing them to apply their learnings in real-world scenarios. Every session offered practical, hands-on experiences to ensure that the knowledge gained was immediately actionable.
EY Give A Hand
The event concluded with a powerful CSR initiative that brought all 2,000 delegates together for a charity team-building activity. Under David’s guidance and in partnership with Lightbulb Teams, participants collaborated to assemble prosthetic hands through the Give a Hand programme. These life-changing devices will be donated in EY’s name to individuals in need across the developing world. This meaningful activity demonstrated EY’s commitment to not only developing their teams but also making a tangible difference in the world.
Reflecting on the event, David Meade shared how inspired he was by EY’s dedication to excellence and purpose. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to partner with EY and Lightbulb Teams on such a transformative project. Together, they demonstrated that leadership development can go beyond business goals—it can also leave a lasting legacy of impact and change.
