Canon Illuminate
August 8, 2023Canon’s Illuminate Programme brought together experts, influencers and pioneering thinkers to open up new ideas and processes.
Held in Edinburgh’s Balmoral Hotel, the event was about finding inspiring new ways to use imaging and information and build better business by improving the way we live and work.
Having worked with Canon for nearly ten years on various keynotes, all across the world, David was delighted to be asked to be a part of this exclusive event.
With a select audience of less than 30 people, participants got to benefit from David’s insight on leadership, on collaboration and on building purpose-driven organisations.
David showed the teams how to connect with their purpose in a real and authentic way, how to how to build a guiding coalition and how to make sure that everyone in your organisation knows, understands and is actively living your purpose every day.
In doing so David also proved the power of purpose-led organisations and what impact it can make to their engagement, their retention, and ultimately to their levels of profitability.
In order to really bring this message alive, David delivered the Light Bulb team’s Water Works activity, where teams get together to build life-changing and life-saving water filters that will be donated in the client’s name to needy individuals all across the world.
The audience worked together to complete four kits that will make a difference to villages that need them most.
David said: “As a company Canon pride themselves on bringing small, focused groups of leaders together to have challenging conversations about where they are and where they’re headed. And this was another stellar example of how powerful that model can be.
“The Water Works activity was a perfect way to prove that when we work together we can achieve more than the sum of our individual parts and everyone involved really pushed themselves to meet the challenges of the task.
“It was an incredibly inspiring day and I was honoured to be a part of it.”
