David Delivers Key Note Speech to Sensata Technologies
April 24, 2023Delivering the key note speech at Sensata Technologies’s recent leadership event gave David a rare opportunity to come back to Northern Ireland and work with a business here.
Keynote Speech to Sensata Technologies
With a base in Antrim, Sensata is a global industrial technology company striving to create a cleaner, more efficient, electrified and connected world. As a company it develops sensors, sensor-based solutions, including controllers and software, and other mission-critical products to create valuable business insights for customers and end users in the automotive, aircraft, industrial, heavy vehicle, off-road, HVAC and marine industries.
The event gathered together 200 delegates from Sensata’s wider leadership team at the Dunadry Hotel, Templepatrick to help develop their leadership, communication and collaboration skills. David was only too pleased to deliver the key note and did so in his usual inimitable, high energy way.
In his speech David talked about the importance of communication and explored ways teams can make sure they’re on message, aligned with the strategy and truly connected together. He also looked at how to build teams that don’t just work together in the short term but can continue to collaborate on a long-term basis.
The topics of resilience, mental health and mindset where also touched upon, with David delving into how to deal with challenging and uncertain times and equip people with the skills needed to succeed in challenging circumstances.
Speaking after the event a spokesperson from Sensata remarked: “We dedicated a section of the afternoon to sharing what was learnt from David’s session and it was absolutely encouraging. There was so much that the breakout teams discussed and shared, to include how we can practically apply the learning in shaping our behaviours and developing a growth mindset, thereby making our already high performing teams greater and even more effective in driving personal, team and organisational success.”
David said: “This was a great experience to be involved with. As ever we tried to keep everything very high octane and while it was absolutely full of learning it was also full of laughter.
“We challenged the audience to step outside their comfort zone; to reimagine how they connect and interconnect with their people and in doing so to create a a really strong and powerful foundation for not just the business today but for where the business is heading to in the future.”
