David & Team Meade lend a helping hand at the EY Big Event

Over 1500 EY delegates agree on building a Better Working World together

For two days, straight after the Christmas break, David and his team were honoured to work alongside EY at their all Ireland event held in the Convention Centre Dublin. David Meade Ltd. had been working to bring this event together over the course of 9 months and David himself was the lead host and facilitator across both days.

To kick off on day 1, over 500 managers from all the EY offices in Ireland participated in interactive sessions that focussed on the science of motivation, influence and persuasion. Following this highly energetic session, delegates delved into an insightful personality profiling exercise whereby they were split into four teams and were asked to complete individual and group activities to explore what they’d discovered in more depth. To finish off the day, delegates participated in the impactful Big Picture activity. Teams were asked to complete activities, collect resources and contribute in the creation of a mural, that was revealed at the evening event, and the became the backdrop of the conference the next day. The buzz in the room when the mural was unveiled was electrifying.

Day 2 was another jam-packed day, but instead of 500 delegates, there were over 1500. All EY Ireland employees travelled to Dublin to participate in activities facilitated by David, that focussed on motivation, engagement, high performance and community engagement. The highlight for many of the delegates on day 2 was the final Helping Hands activity. Delegates were asked to create, from scratch, a prosthetic hand, to be sent to Cambodia and Uganda for those who have lost their arms due to land mines. The care and pride that the participants took in creating a useful implement was evident in the feedback that was received after the event.

It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of such a successful event and we look forward to assisting further organisations in similar events.

David delivers an engaging and mind-bending keynote address

David was honoured to be invited along to the Celanese Winter Business Summit & 100th Year Anniversary Celebration as their guest speaker. The summit was held in the beautiful and stunning surroundings of Arosa, Switzerland.

Petra Czugler, Celanese, commented “David’s performance was everything and more we could ask for! He engaged with the audience from the very first minute and kept us excited and suspended all the way through. David has a great personality and a wonderful sense of humour, he hit exactly the right tone with the audience, which was not an easy task given that it was a very intimate setting.

We felt that he is a part of the team and the business elements he brought into the act were just the right types. I knew we made the right decision by selecting David as our guest speaker when I saw our executives and guest in animated conversation and fully participating in the small assignments he gave the team, not to mention the roaring laughter that accompanied each trick and joke.

David connected very well with our clients and kept them entertained even after the act. We received many compliments on selecting him, and his act was even a topic of conversation during the breakfast next day which is a sure sign of his success. We received overwhelmingly positive feedback on him, in fact many of our clients signalled that they would be interested in working with David in the future.

David provides great entertainment, he is a highly engaging and authentic speaker, performs amazing tricks and I can guarantee that you will ask him to come back for more.”

David ‘lifts’ spirits on Blue Monday with levitation to Northern Ireland

Dubliners were transported to a whole new level on Blue Monday 2018

15th January 2018:  Dublin’s spirits were lifted to a new level this Blue Monday as commuters on the streets were levitated to 2018’s number one region to visit, Belfast and the Causeway Coast, as voted by the world’s travel guide book, Lonely Planet.

On a day considered the gloomiest of the year, with post-Christmas blues and looming credit card bills, Discover Northern Ireland stopped people in their tracks with a mind-bending physical levitation and unique optical illusion. Mentalist, TV personality and Northern Ireland native David Meade opened up the eyes of Dublin to Northern Ireland by physically floating passers-by within an iconic Belfast and Causeway Coast backdrop.

With holiday and getaway planning usually at its peak during the first month of the year, workers were inspired on their lunch break by the show-stopping act and stunning landscapes to book a short break to Northern Ireland.

David Meade, Northern Ireland native and mentalist, commented, “It was fantastic to see the crowds in Dublin stop in their tracks with commuters being whisked away to Northern Ireland in an instant. The Lonely Planet accolade has well and truly elevated Belfast and the Causeway Coast’s status across the globe and I hope by lifting people’s spirits on such a gloomy day, these top regions will be firmly placed on Dublin commuters ‘must-see’ list this year.”

Fiona Cunningham, Tourism NI ROI Market Manager, commented, “There is no better way to start 2018 than being transported to the No 1 Hotspot for the year on this dreary Monday in January and being able to experience a new and  inspiring destination on our doorstep. So much has yet to be explored in Northern Ireland by ROI visitors and key factors such as close proximity and a favourable exchange rate makes it a perfect time to visit.

“With Lonely Planet crowning Belfast and the Causeway Coast the number one place to visit in the world, we expect many visitors will be curious and want to experience it for themselves. From Titanic Belfast to the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, there are many well-known attractions to visit but there are also fantastic hidden gems to explore and a variety of activities to pack in to make a truly memorable short break.”

The region claimed the top spot because “it is deservedly now recognised as a must-visit destination by travellers from across the globe,” according to James Smart, Lonely Planet’s Destination Editor for Britain and Ireland.

He added, “Dynamic Belfast has put its troubled past behind it and is a city transformed, its streets packed with buzzing bars and great stories, while the coastline beyond boasts spectacular scenery and plenty of great diversions.”
